There is no upload button

Choosing a file hands it to this page, not to a network. Everything after that — finding the edges, straightening the page, writing the PDF — happens in your device's own memory.

There is nothing here to upload to

This site is a folder of files on a web server. It has no database, no queue and no endpoint that accepts a document. The server answers 405 Method Not Allowed to anything that tries to send it one, and a test asserts that on every deploy.

Your browser is told to refuse

The page ships a Content-Security-Policy that permits network connections to this site alone and forbids form submissions outright. Even a bug could not post your file somewhere else — the browser would block it before it left.

You do not have to take our word for any of it. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and run a scan. You will see the page load, and then nothing.

What is free, and why

All five tools are free with no sign-in, and that is not generosity. They cost us nothing to run, because they do not run on our machines — they run on yours. There is no per-file cost for us to pass on to you.

Text recognition is the one thing that genuinely costs something, and it is not on this site. It is in the Android app, on-device, and Scanly Pro is where it is paid for.
